THE NERDBEECON TRUST CENTER
Your corner. Your choices.
This overview describes the current public beta and the controls that work today.
Sign-in and account records
ChatGPT provides the existing sign-in option. Email/password sign-in uses Supabase when available and requires email confirmation. Email and ChatGPT accounts keep separate records; use the same method to return to your data. The configured owner receives a private president profile on the first authenticated visit. NerdBeecon associates profiles, reviews, saved titles, submissions, helpful votes and reports with that account. The server uses the owner’s configured email to check administrative access. Account email addresses are not included in public profile or review responses.
What other visitors can see
Published reviews show your chosen display name, rating, text, disclosure and review context. A profile enters the community directory only when you opt into public visibility. Public profiles include the biography, preferences and review statistics you chose to share.
What stays private
Saved lists are private. Non-public profile details and your withdrawn/hidden review management are returned only to your account or the owner’s moderation workspace. Developer submissions, catalogue suggestions and report reasons are visible to the owner. Your account shows your own history. Accepted catalogue additions can show public profile credit only when you opt in and have a public profile.
A private profile does not hide reviews
Turning profile visibility off removes the directory entry and linked public profile handle. Published review text and the display name remain visible. To remove a published review from community scores and public lists, use Withdraw in account settings.
Download and manage your records
Account settings can download your profile, reviews, saved titles, developer submissions, helpful votes and reports as JSON. Withdrawal keeps the review record for your management and moderation history. It is reversible and is not account deletion. Self-service account deletion is not implemented. Use Contact & feedback for a request that needs owner action; withdrawing a review or changing profile visibility works immediately.
Storage and external links
Site records and uploaded editorial images use the hosting platform’s persistent storage. ChatGPT handles its own sign-in; Supabase handles email credentials and session verification when email sign-in is enabled. NerdBeecon stores email session tokens in secure, HttpOnly cookies, not browser local storage. Official product/source links and externally hosted images may contact their respective services when opened or loaded. Review external services’ privacy information when using them.
Requests and beta operations
Use Contact & feedback to send a private privacy, correction or copyright concern to the owner. Messages, optional page links, request statuses and owner replies are stored with your account and included in your export. Check the request page for replies; no email notification is sent. Retention periods and formal public terms remain under review. No response-time guarantee is made during beta.
