THE NERDBEECON TRUST CENTER
Know what the number means.
A score starts the conversation. The rating count and the reviews help you decide what it means for you.
The REAL PEOPLE SCORE
Each published community review contributes one overall score from 1 to 10. The displayed score is the arithmetic mean, rounded to one decimal place. Each review has equal weight. With no published ratings, we display a dash rather than a made-up score.
One account, one title, one rating
You can edit your existing review. An edit replaces its rating; it does not add another vote. Helpful votes help people find useful perspectives and do not change score weighting.
Recommendations and categories
The recommendation percentage is the share of published reviewers who selected “I recommend this title.” Optional category averages include only reviewers who explicitly scored that category, with a separate count. Category scores do not replace the overall score.
Staff takes stay separate
Staff scores never enter the community average. An editorial disagreement with the community is visible and is not a reason to adjust anyone’s rating.
Visibility and release dates
Withdrawn and moderated hidden reviews are excluded from public scores, recommendation totals and profile statistics. An author may republish their own withdrawn review while its title is active and released. Moderated reviews cannot bypass the moderation decision. Reviews open on the catalogue’s announced release day using America/Chicago dates.
What this build verifies
Sign-in, one review per account/title, required review text, basic write limits and manual moderation are implemented. Purchases, playtime and identity beyond the signed-in account are not independently verified. No review-bombing detection or trust weighting is claimed.
